Neurodiversity-Affirming Autism Assessments for Adults in Australia

DSC00717.JPG.jpeg

Conducted by an Autistic ADHD perinatal psychologist who understands what it's like to question your neurotype, especially during the intensity of parenthood.

You Might Be Here Because...

āœ“  You've suspected you're autistic for years but kept pushing it aside

āœ“  Becoming a parent brought everything into sharp focus

āœ“  You're exhausted from masking and need answers

āœ“  You've had dismissive experiences with clinicians who don't get it

āœ“  You need telehealth because leaving the house is too much of a demand right now

āœ“  You want an assessment that feels validating, warm and welcoming; not cold and clinical

āœ“  You're trans, non-binary, or gender-diverse and need a provider who understands the intersection of neurodivergence and gender  (as best as a cis person can!)

Why work with me?

I'm Sarah, an Autistic ADHD perinatal psychologist (PSY0001942702) with a Special Interest in affirming adult autism assessments.

A few FAQs

Do I need a referral? No, you can book directly.

How long until I get my results? Your feedback session is scheduled 3-6 weeks after your assessment, where I'll provide your diagnostic letter. Comprehensive functional reports may take additional time.

Will my report be accepted for NDIS? I'm not a clinical psychologist, so my letters alone may not be sufficient for NDIS. I offer comprehensive functional reports and can arrange co-signing with a clinical psychologist. Best to discuss your specific situation.

What if I'm not autistic? That's okay. The assessment process still provides valuable insights about yourself, and we can explore other explanations for your experiences.

Do you work with gender diverse folks? Yes. My practice aims to be gender-affirming and I understand the research showing significant overlap between autism and gender diversity. As a cis person, I approach this work with humility and ongoing learning. I won't pathologise your gender identity while assessing for autism.

Can I bring a support person? Yes, if that helps you feel more comfortable during the assessment.
